A radical remodel of a modest bungalow in the Atwater Village neighborhood of Los Angeles. The existing single-car garage has been torn down and a newly oriented art studio/guest house is shifted to the back of the lot, creating opportunities for a variety of outdoor rooms and more fluid use of the entire lot. 

An addition at the rear of the house extends the building envelope in stealth human scale with low maintenance raw materials including cedar and cement board siding. Colorful cabinetry and painted exterior volumes will contrast with the low-water landscape elements. The project includes a greywater system and many locally sourced materials.
