Architecture is a very curious topic that goes far beyond its literal meaning of the built space. Within the facets of architecture, many things are revealed - culture, history, social movements, feelings, beliefs. Architecture represents not just the builder but those who interact with it. Every architect is bound to a social contract to create meaningful structures that serve the whole community - through function, ascetic, or more.
This is what inspires me; The influence that architects may have for improvement and problem solving. My background from DAAP - University of Cincinnati’s design and architecture school contributed to my ultimate desire to strive for change and betterment of the built space. My Masters degree from Newschool of Architecture - focus in construction management reveals the reality of these goals. Together I would like to use my education and skills to work towards social justice through design.
My job at Nelson Worldwide helps me reimagine the built space that shoppers engage with. Offering dynamic new store experiences and implementing that design across a number of stores.

Responsibilities Include:
Assist in the preparation of construction documents and specifications.
Update design documents and incorporate red-lines as needed.
Follow NELSON standards and guidelines in the preparation of deliverables.
Maintain and archive electronic project files.
Assist in mapping out construction document requirements.
Create basic details.
Ability to document common architectural systems.
Identify code requirements for common architectural systems, life safety, and ADA.
Complete small construction document sets using predetermined client standards and templates.
Basic Knowledge of project budget and schedules and responsibility to adhere to set parameters.
Ability to work more independently on smaller projects and with supervision on large and more complex projects.
Plot & prepare drawings for digital transmittance to consultants, clients, and/or contractors.

Four-Year Pre-Professional Degree; The Bachelor of Science in Architecture (BS-Arch) degree is composed of seven academic semesters and three cooperative (co-op) semesters within four years of undergraduate education. Program studies are focused in design, construction technologies, digital arts, the humanities, social sciences, and aesthetic expression. Rotating Co-op reinforced my skills in the field through several co-op semesters that offered the opportunity to work full-time in several different architecture firm's and sectors.
