Riddel Architecture, Brisbane, AU, Work Experience Student

Bond University, Gold Coast, AU, BArch, Architectural Studies

As a student from the first cohort to graduate from Bond University’s new Soheil Abedian School of Architecture, we were given an amazing learning experience, with small class sizes and world-class teachers (such as the Bartlett’s Sir Peter Cook and previous Queensland Government Architect and head of school, Philip Follent), who taught us both the design and technical skills required to succeed in the workplace. It also strengthened my ability to work in a team environment and taught me the importance of collaboration in design. The program emphasised conceptual design and creativity and we were encouraged to explore alternate design solutions to briefs and build upon our problem solving skills. This was supplemented with practical experience in drafting, sustainability practices and presenting ideas to clients.
