About

Amy Elaine Shell presently lives and works in New York City as an Associate of Architecture at Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation.  She holds a Master of Science in Urban Design and Architecture from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Oklahoma. As a graduate student, she received the William Kinne Fellows Prize and the Lucille Smyser Lowenfish Memorial Prize.  Her field experience began at TAP Architecture in Oklahoma City, where she was part of the team as an intern architect for two years.  While pursuing her graduate studies in New York, she worked as a research assistant and graphic designer for the Legacy Cities Partnership, an organization founded by the American Assembly.

With a focus on multi-scalar analysis and place-based research and design, Amy’s work in urban design and architecture centers on both critical and imaginative experimentation in regards to social equity, public infrastructure, sustainable systems of energy amid complex environments, and the radical possibilities of redefining the public realm and physical form of the the 21st century urban landscape.
