Seduction Pavilion

The purpose and main idea in this pavilion is to generate a tour based on the experience of viewing the photographs of the starlets as the user walks through the entire installation. When making the tour in the pavilion, the user will be able to appreciate each photograph as part of the unique architectural element, which correspond to fiber optic bars elements illuminated through an LED system, which are dynamic and static along the route.

The essential objective is for the user to walk through the pavilion and discover each image as he moves along the pavilion. The journey has been conceptualized as a two-dimensional abstract representation diagram of a man enveloping a woman, in addition, there are two main elements in the entrance and exit, which were generated as a formal three-dimensional metaphor of the seduction of a man to a woman through the shelter that represents the painting of Gustav Klimt "The kiss".

 As part of the tour, two viewing areas have been incorporated, the first corresponds to an area for the exhibition of a sculpture as part of the route in the pavilion. The second corresponds to an area for the projection of films required by the architectural program.

 The intention is to generate a unitary architectural element from individual components that represent the mapping of each image to be exposed, this image pixel mapping will be developed from the identification of the black and white color of the images and represented by illuminated fiber optic bars through an LED system. The photographs will be mapped and represented by means of a gradient that starts in black and contains the elements without LED lighting, the elements in white are representing elements with LED lighting and a transition of eight gray scales to give the visual sensation of fading of the represented image.

 The double curved surface at the beginning of the route will be the introduction to the exhibition and consists of fiber optic bars with LED lighting turned on and off, resulting in another static gradient, these elements will be supported through a waffle structure materialized by means of MDF sheets 6 mm thick and supported through cuts that receive the vertical and horizontal directions of the elements in the mixed joints, and through reinforced aluminum frames on the edges of the surface, in order to be able to sustain all MDF elements. The same structural principle and material type will apply on the double curved surface that is located at the exit of the pavilion.

 On the other hand, the conformation of a gradient to visualize each image along the path will allow to incorporate static and dynamic elements in each of the walls that contain the mapping of each graph. In total the dynamic elements will be incorporated into 10 walls, resulting in a total of 20 images to be represented dynamically on both sides of the walls. The static elements will be conformed by 10 walls in which there will only be one representation of image mapping, resulting in a total of 10 images to be exposed.

 At the end the spectators will be visually seduced as they are walking to discover the images of the starlets as part of the walls that make up the architectural space defined by the route along the pavilion.
