Hua Wei is a master degree student in Architecture at the Now Institute at the University of California, Los Angeles, under the direction of Thom Mayne. Wei and her team members have finished the Tencent Technology Campus design, and they are developing a sustainable architecture project in Haiti. Wei has a BA in Architecture from Beijing University of Technology(BJUT), and she was awarded the 2015 and the 2016 First Prize for Exceptional Studies Fellowship. A year later, Wei represented the university to participate in an architectural design workshop with the University of South Australia, including traditional building tour and residential building research. Also, she helped her mentor, a Ph.D. from Delft Institute of Technology, to update the research of Beijing DongSi Hutong. Before graduating from BJUT, Wei finished her internship job as an assistant engineer in Beijing Institute of Architecture Design, carrying out construction drawing for Wanda(a large and lucrative corporation in China) Building Standardization Project. Prior to her graduate study at UCLA, she worked as an architectural intern for Vector Architects, where she participated in the design work of Tianjin Nankai University Teacher Development Center which is in constructing. As a designer, she volunteered 2016 Beijing International Design Week and finished window dressing mission independently in a Beijing traditional district.
