Hello,
My name is Caroline Rocha Bastos, I’m a Brazilian architect and urban planner, by The Federal University of Paraná with a master degree in conservation and restoration of heritage by the Federal University of Bahia/UNESCO (2020).
I´m deeply passioned about historical sites, buildings and cultural heritage. During my professional life I was able to work with different kind of sites and historical objects. I worked as an intern in the historical heritage department of city hall of São José dos Pinhais, and collaborated in the "Ancient architecture guide of São José dos Pinhais" (2012). I also was an intern at private companies, such as the construction company Kimura Bastos (2016).
In addition, I received a scholarship from the Science Without Borders program, in the "Conservation of Cultural Heritage - BA (Hons)course” at Lincoln University, UK. During the course I joined extracurricular projects such as the restoration of the royal panels of Windsor Castle, the restoration of the Saint Anne's chapel (by architect Willian Butterfield) and in the semi-annual exhibition of projects restored by students. During the exchange I was member of AA London School and participated in a Workshop in Muxagata, Portugal, which main object was promoting cultural interventions in the city’s historic oven (2015).
My interests are in the area of research, history of architecture, projects with historical buildings, cultural heritage, diagnosis and restoration and conservation of buildings.
I have availability to work remotely or travel abroad!

Research about the costs off new street lighting. In addition, estimate the costs of light design for historical buildings, parks, squares and city landmarks. My duties were writing reports, photograph city landmarks, research and diagnosis and ensure that the new lighting was adequate with the existing scenario.

Bahia's research Support Foundation provides master's and doctorate scholarships.
End of the academic funds of FAPESB. The scholarship was temporary because the cuts of founds in Brazilian academic research funds. I ended my master degree thesis even so.

The Brazilian qualification system is based on at least five-year course and an internship in a company or government offices. At the end of the course the student is able to work as qualified architect, interior designer and urban planner. In the Universidade Tecnológica do Paraná (UTFPR University) the student was to attend at least 4245 hours of subjects to get a degree and be a qualified architect. In Brazil the course is a bachelor kind but in USA system, for example, is similar to a MArch credit.
During the course I was able to work in different architecture offices, as intern and in São José dos Pinhais (a city near by Curitiba) City hall. The University provided us subjects to developed different kind of projects, academic research and Building construction.
