Los Angeles, CA, US

Hello! My name is Amy Tubau and I am an architectural designer living in Los Angeles, California. Most recently I have worked at Blitz, an architectural firm in Culver City who specializes in tenant improvement for reputable tech companies, though my architectural interest expands beyond that. I have a preprofessional degree in architecture (B.Arch) coupled with a minor in Art History from the University of Oregon. I am passionate about exploring new design solutions through a network of professionals who have knowledge in different disciplines. I believe that as a profession- we should take time to look past a grandiose vision of aestheticism, and connect with the people we create space for, inclusively and sustainably.

University of Oregon, Eugene, OR, US, Campus Planning Student Intern

The mission of the department was to accommodate the expansion and innovation of the University campus, while also maintaining and preserving the University Heritage guidelines. My responsibilities at the Campus Planning department were to design and create diagrams that responded to user transportation, human movements, and space development. I was also tasked with collecting and analyzing data from different user groups. I engaged with colleagues who worked on planning studies focused on areas surrounding the university and within the city of Eugene. Through this process, I worked with zoning codes and used programs such as Geographic Information Survey (GIS) to provide accurate visuals on project proposals. I became comfortable engaging with my superiors and office colleagues, inquiring about future projects and asking questions when I felt unsure. Through my time working with the university, I became more resilient and confident in my ability to complete the required assignments.
