About

I currently live in East Hollywood, specifically Franklin Village, after moving from Denver in October of 2019. I adore my neighborhood, a real hidden gem in the sprawl of LA that showcases some of the most beautiful craftsman homes I've ever seen combined with the sparkle of the Hollywood Hills all within an easy walk. Being next to Thai Town and Little Armenia brings an incredible cultural melting pot and a much appreaciated food scene. I'd consider myself a neighborhood enthusiast. I walked to work for years in central Denver, appreciating each nuance of everyday life within the blocks of my daily routine. I sincerely believe life shouldn't revolve around a long daily driving commute.

I realized residential architecture is my clear 'work' passion after making the decision to change course in 2018 from custom single-family residential design into commercial/hospitality to broaden my experience and skills. I appreciate restaurant design so much but I realized too late I should have double-majored, adding an interior design degree while I was at SCAD, to truly be able to design what I love about hospitality projects. I'm now looking for more of a balance in design projects, being able to work on both residential and commercial/hospitality but would be happy settling back into a full-time residential position.

My residential design aesthetic is broad and I have extensive experience in a wide range of styles and techniques. I admire and appreciate historical and vernacular buildings but can truly value clean, modern design as well. I respect all styles of architecture as long as the details, quality, and materials are right.

1ine Studio, Denver, CO, US, Project Designer

1ine Studio is a small, boutique architecture firm with a wide portfolio of projects including TI's, restaurants, hotels, religious facilities, and offices. I'm hoping to gain experience in hospitality and restaurant design as well as further my understanding of the commercial architectural design process while in my current position.

Dec 2018 - Feb 2020

Chalet, Denver, CO, US, Architectural Designer

Chalet is a design-build, high-end residential firm in Denver. While employed, I managed custom, single-family residential projects from concept through punch-lists as an architectural designer at Chalet, a design-build firm. We fully designed all of our projects from the inside out, finishing hard interiors and some soft interiors as well. I was responsible for drawings from schematic to construction, managing consultants, and directly interacting with subcontractors and construction managers. I have specialized skills in interior architecture, carpentry, and cabinetry. I'm also familiar with tile schedules and drawings as well as other finishes.

May 2015 - Nov 2018

Education

Savannah College of Art and Design, Savannah, GA, US, MArch, Architecture

Having the opportunity to attend an art school for my architecture degree gave me such incredible opportunities to learn from every student and professor, no matter the program. I was always artistic and thrived in such a wonderfully creative environment. The collaborative and unique opportunities I had while in college were irreplaceable and I couldn't imagine attending school anywhere else.

I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts while studying Architecture as well as my Master of Architecture degree. While at SCAD I focused my extra courses on digital modeling and rendering, architectural history, and furniture design when not in architectural studios.
