About 

Yongyeon Cho is an assistant professor in the Department of Interior Design, College of Design, and a faculty member in the Human-Computer Interaction Program at Iowa State University. He received his Master of Fine Arts degree from Iowa State University in Ames, and the Master of Interior Architecture from Konkuk University, and his Bachelor of Engineering degree in Interior Architecture from Soongsil University, both in Seoul. Since 2018, Cho has been working as a design advisor at Keumkang Enterprises Inc. His research interests include wellness design research and method, evaluation criteria and assessment tools, graphic communication tools and techniques, bibliographic research, and user-centered and human-centered design. In 2017, he was an interior design professional at HOK, Chicago office. He holds WELL AP and LEED GA and received an Engineer Architecture certificate in Korea. He published “Tutorials of Visual Graphic Communication Programs for Interior Design” in 2021. He was a member of a student-winning team for the Healthcare Environment Award, sponsored by Contract magazine and the Center for Healthcare Design in 2016. He was a recipient of Masaaki Yamada Juror's Award of Merit in 2015 and Award of Excellence in 2019 at the American Society of Architectural Illustrators, the winner of the American Academy of Healthcare Interior Designers graduate research fellowship sponsored by Steelcase in 2017, and the winner of Next Work Environment Competition organized by Work Design Magazine in 2020. He has been serving as a Creative Scholarship juror for the Interior Design Educators Council since 2018.
