Wuhai City is located by the upper reach of the Yellow River, in the southwest of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, is the centre of "Ningshan Mongolia" economic belt along the Yellow River, and is the frontier core of western extension of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. The site is near Riverfront New Dist., and will shoulder the specific urban function, with unique blessed advantages in location. There’s convenient transportation around the site. Site is located at the western end of the east-west commercial axis in the main city area, is the starting point of Haibowan Dist. to expand along the Yellow River, and has important significance. In the Riverfront New Dist., the site is parallel to the business axis, and will serve as the display surface of the city image; cultural, administrative and green axes lead into the site through the New Dist., and the site should echo them.

Planning objectives:

- Establishing a city brand and enhancing the value of the city;

- Discovering, refining, integrating Wuhai’s unique natural, historical and cultural elements, and synthesizing organically into the city regeneration.

- Creating unique personalized charming Desert / Hill / Water / City.

Park Planning Concept: Sun Shinning Wuhai

Wuhai is a "Sun City" with plenty of sunshine, so we naturally think about the scene of "Sun Shinning Wuhai":

- A spectacular city axis, starting from the CBD, across the Bashang Park, finally forms an island in the river;

- This axis is a spatial continuation of the regular and orderly CBD, with consideration of the terrain elevation differences, stepping down toward the water as terraces;

- At the end of the axis, the sun style architecture rises from the water thus becoming the climax of the entire area.

Sparkling Wuhai is flashing dazzling brilliance because of the sunshine. What’s dazzling like the sun is not only Wuhai, but also the hotel architecture standing soon. Like the sun rising from Wuhai, it is so unique in strong contrast with the sand desert and waterfront oasis. The park includes 4 theme zones: Ecological natural, City public, VIP reception and Hotel area;

Architectural Design Concept: Sun and Moon Shine Together

Wuhai "Sun City", is a place where the Sun shines. Anciently there were rock paintings of the sun in Table Mountain, today there are writing activities for the sun by thousands people, and the sun worship and commemoration has become an important tradition of Wuhai people. Therefore we consider the passionate, dreamy and wise sun as our architectural design theme, symbolizing the spirit of Wuhai that is respectful to nature, pursuing the light, and positively enterprising.

Hotel building is a five-star luxury city resort, including hotel rooms, conference center, entertainment and catering facilities as well as a VIP house nearby. In the main hotel, the service facilities are mainly set in the center of the sun shaped plan, the guest rooms are distributed in the sun radiancy branches, and enjoy more than 240 degree’s wide views to the river. The design of VIP house echoes the main hotel, adopts the concept of "Sun and Moon Shine Together", and is in a shape of New Moon.
