ACADEMY ROCKER

GIANT OSB SEE-SAW

The architecture programme at Stuttgart’s Akademie der Bildenden Künste, known as “Aka”, is considered to be one of Europe’s best. To mark the 250th anniversary of this landmark institution, students designed the “Aka See- Saw”, a 7.20-metre long, 2.60-metre wide and 3.20-metre high piece of open-air furniture. EGGER sponsored the project with EGGER OSB 4 TOP boards for the rocking base. The roof’s thin, folded plate structure is made of plastic. For over a year now, this novel object on the square in front of the academy has been a haven for passers-by taking a rest or having a chat.
