AB Architekten

AB Architekten is a full-service architectural firm founded in 2002 by part­ners Matthias Altwicker and Alexander Blakely. Their com­bined ex­peri­ence in­cludes design and con­struc­tion of residential, com­mer­cial, and edu­ca­tional pro­jects in the Uni­ted States and Europe. AB Architekten is par­ticu­larly com­mit­ted to en­viron­men­tally conscious build­ing design with a focus on imple­ment­ing solar energy systems. Local­ly they are con­sult­ants to the Nassau County Plann­ing Federa­tion and mem­bers of the Sus­tain­able Long Island Design Assis­tance Team. They have received grants to con­duct photovoltaic re­search pro­jects with Long Island Power Au­thor­ity and the New York Insti­tute of Technology. In August 2007 AB Architekten were invited as re­source team mem­bers for the Regional Plan Association at the Long Island Mayors Institute on Community Design.
