This past February, Robin Clark, a curator and art historian specializing in intersections between contemporary art and architecture, spoke as part of Woodbury School of Architecture’s 2012 Spring Lecture Series. She presented her most recent exhibition, Phenomenal: California Light, Space, Surface. Installed at the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego, the Pacific Standard Time project focused on thirteen artists working in Los Angeles during the 1960s and 70s for whom light was a primary medium.

Before her lecture, Clark sat down in conversation with Woodbury School of Architecture graduate student Cristina Barrios. Barrios’ thesis project, entitled “Luminance Activation,” dovetails with Clark’s research into light art.
