Our office, situated adjacent to ‘Jiashan Market’ in the Former French Concession area of Shanghai, occupies a four story commercial office building with 400 square meter floor plates. The concept for the space is to provide a collaborative working and meeting environment at street level for clients, artists and designers. The street level volume supports three levels of studio and research departments.

Select parts of internal walls were demolished to open up the interior floor space. A white ‘skin’ wraps the core and half of the floor area, in the center of which a void is punched to provide a visual connection between floors. The design has maximized the amount of external light and openness.
