My professional background includes 12 years of experience in Architecture, Urban Planning, and Construction Management in Florida and abroad. Being an alumnus of the University of Miami School of Architecture, I believe in creating, promoting and proliferating pedestrian-friendly sustainable urban environments.

AgroTrade America, Miami, FL, US, Senior Store Designer and Assistant Project Manager

• Senior Designer and Assistant Project Manager, conceptualized over 40 store layouts for European based Hypermarket Development Company, with a financial backup of 11 billion dollars in annual revenues, it recently started operations in the U.S.
• Conceptualized design and building standards, implemented guidelines and specifications for the five prototype store formats
• Worked next to company COO and Head of Engineering Department in all aspects of store development, from the drawing board to more than 10 store openings – and counting
• Streamlined design processes and common construction issues by working with vendors across all disciplines, as well as government agencies, by standardizing design and building methods

Abreu Residence, Golden Beach, Florida – with AG Architecture, Miami, Florida
• Design-build residential waterfront project, with over 12,000 square feet, situated in almost 2 acres of land
• Consulted as Project Manager for design phase, construction documents production, pre-construction phase, programming and client coordination
• Developed material production schedules for pricing during pre-construction phase
• Reviewed sub-contractor proposals and helped award contracts to winning bids, based on proposed price, timeline, quality and general conditions

Casa Dr. Jose Moreno, Key Largo, Florida –
• Designed waterfront, two story residence, with close to 1500 sq. ft., to meet best Green Building
practices as feasible as possible and within budget
• Managed Design-Build project, designed and answered to client program needs – from schematic design, Contract Documents, Permitting, Pre-construction to Sub-contractor bid awarding
• Developed, coordinated and assisted in the design of Structural and MEP trades of project, under the supervision of licensed consultants
• Managed all aspects of pre-construction phase: budget, contract conditions, contract award, job schedule, payment schedule, on-site visits and survey

• Consulted as part of project management team in the biggest urban infill project in Abu-Dhabi, U.A.E., The South Hudayriat Islands Master Plan
• Coordinated team members in the production of project analytical diagrams, coordination of street/block layout, open spaces, amenities, mass transit and pedestrian connectivity plans

Projects:

600 Brickell Financial Centre, Miami ($160 million) – 40 stories of Class “A” commercial high-rise, with 1.5 million square feet, aiming to become first LEED certified tower in Miami’s financial district:
• Managed and coordinated engineering for $20 million contract for curtain wall trade and waterproofing
• Coordinated curtain wall with steel structure, concrete pre-cast panels, roofing and waterproofing trades
• Supervised and reported on progress of curtain wall punch-window testing procedure until final permit
• Streamlined work completion dates for engineering, material delivery and initial installation dates
• Reviewed and processed submittals – shop drawings, product data, samples and warranties

ICON Brickell, Miami ($500 million) – World class luxury condominium, hotel and retail complex composed of three 50-plus story towers, bay-liner units and garage, totaling 1800 units – developed by The Related Group, with Arquitectonica, and Yoo by Phillip Stark on board as design team:
• Coordinated Owner Architect change directives with field superintendents and sub-contractors
• Worked closely with Project Manager to coordinate field information between Owner, Architect, MEP engineers, Structural engineer and Interior Designer
• Managed finish tile contract, including material scheduling, coordinating and overseeing work of subs
• Calculated tile material take-offs for pricing and quantified material deliveries for monthly billing
• Flagged potential change orders and created change order requests for ownership
• Reviewed and processed contract documents, submittal drawings, product data, mockups, inspection reports, as well as created, processed and distributed requests for information (RFI’s)

• Managed project-wide assignments for 50,000 sq. ft. office-warehouse condo complex, in 2 acres of land – schematic design, site planning, space planning, feasibility studies, code research, selected project specifications, Pricing Drawings, 100% Construction Documents, project coordination of MEP, Civil, Structural, Landscape and Fire Protection drawings, permit processing and construction administration
• Proven capacity to maximize floor area ratio within limits as required by code
• Created presentation drawings and renderings for numerous RFP’s – private and public sector
