251 Dekalb

Originally built in 1967 as The Marquis, 251 Dekalb is Varenhorst’s redesign of over 750,000 square feet of space. The new complex includes 650 apartment units, two new gyms, an indoor children’s play area, indoor and outdoor pools, a yoga room, a game room, tennis, bocce, and basketball courts, a dog park, and a community garden. Varenhorst has installed new finishes throughout the building both in common areas and in individual units, with new lighting and elevators as well as new hardwood floors and new kitchens, bathrooms, and appliances. The buildings will also have new windows, a new paint scheme that will update and change the branding of the building, and new HVAC systems with VRF (variable refrigerant flow), allowing for individual apartment temperature control.  Additionally, Varenhorst is building a brand new, 3,000 square foot entry pavilion that will link three of the apartment buildings together and will facilitate resident access to the complex and to its many amenities.
