Hurricane Katrina was one of the most horrific storms to hit the gulf coast on August 29, 2005. Thousands of New Orleans residents were affected by this storm, leaving about 90 percent of the city under flood zones leaving residents helpless & trapped on top of their roofs. The Lower Ninth Ward was one of many neighborhoods in New Orleans that had received most dreadful damages compared to other neighborhoods in the city because of the levees that failed to protect the land. Due to this storm, a lot of the water surged into multiple directions such as the river, the industrial canal and the bayou, all which developed over-flooding causing terrible damages to the city.
