Between various residential districts, and along the main road into Oxford from the west, sits an under-utilized and vandalised 9 hectare recreational space. The proposed Botley Gardens development is a new and distinctive residential community, consistent with Oxford’s planning policy objectives and the West End Area Action Plan, which connects these existing neighbourhoods to the east, west and south, forming part of the new gateway to the City centre to the east.
The development features 468 dwellings, ranging from 1-bed apartments to 4-bed townhouses, 12 retails units and a new community centre, sandwiching three large strips of green space, each with their own function - nature walk, community garden and vegetation swales to offset the potential flood risk of the site.
