Cosmic Home

The objective of this study is to explore the future possibilities of a single family home in a near zero gravity environment that is relatively weightless and to discover ways of existing in the distant future.  This allows for the exploring of the idea of “Home” of the future, such as the case study houses, and to research the potentials of designing and constructing livable structure that do no need to battle the forces of gravity.  The investigation of what architectural space could be when it is not tied to structure, as structure in most buildings are associated with dealing with the forces of gravity.  Designing homes in the weightless environment that surrounds the Earth that enhances the experience of the explorer/resident.

The foundation of the future home in Space should be influenced by what we are accustom to living in homes on Earth.  The design of spatial qualities to the traits of space that is needed and providing different experiences and views that give the users a sense of comfort and memories of home.  The Cosmic Home would offer all the spatial rooms and required spaces of a house built on Earth for a nuclear family of four.
