Lecture: Jose Oubrerie, Ohio State University

Jose Oubrerie is a professor of architecture at the Ohio State University. He served as chair of the Knowlton School of Architecture. He previously served as dean at the University of Kentucky. He has also taught at Columbia University, Cooper Union, Ecole Nationale des Beaux-Arts, and the Politecnico di Milano. He is a member of the Ordre des Architectes in France and associate member of the American Institute of Architects. His work includes the French Cultural Center in Damascus, the Miller House (now the Foundation for Advanced Architecture) in Lexington, and several projects with Le Corbusier. His work has been published in the New York Times, Herald Tribune, Architecture d’Aujourd’hui, Assemblage, and GA Houses Special Edition and Models: Architecture and the Miniature. Jose was recently praised by diverse architects in Vanity Fair for his completion of Saint-Pierre at Firminy. His new book is titled, Architecture With and Without Le Corbusier, coauthored by Oscar Riera Ojeda and introduced by George Ranalli and Kenneth Frampton. This book is the result of an exhibit of his work held at the Bernard and Anne Spitzer School of Architecture at City College.
