About

I am a well-rounded individual, with attention to detail.  Analytical and mechanically inclined, I can work independently or work together well in a team.  Teaching multiple subjects for the last 10 years and with over 25 years of experience in the structural engineering field, I have been involved with many aspects of the occupational process.  I enjoy taking ownership of an occupation.

While teaching at the Oxnard Adult School, I enjoyed the different types of students and the circumstances that brought them to their situation and tried to accommodate their needs in the most efficient and effective way.  I have had students from Mexico, Poland, Latin America countries, Russia, Morocco, Egypt and many other countries.  I enjoyed the variety of learning environments and student’s backgrounds.  I have obtained many ways of communication due to the ever changing school population. This ability helps with the success of each individual. I am ready for another challenge. I know I am personable and reliable but more so proficient. I set goals for myself and I have obtained them.

I also have extensive experience and knowledge in design loads, the Uniform Building Code and the newer International Building Code. I am well experienced with dimensional steel or lumber. I am also familiar with their design criteria and specifications.  I have designed and analyzed many pre-engineered products such as I-joists, trusses, Glu-Lams, LVL’s, LSL’s and many others.

I have worked along with many architects and professional engineers over the years during my career in the engineering field. They have called upon my experience to help with the design of many projects that they needed input on from my experienced perspective. I have worked closely with city, county and state officials on many occasions with submittals. I have also been called upon from different governing bodies to help aid in their understanding of detailing practices, fabrication requirements, new product offerings and many other aspects of the engineering process from design practices, to product approval.

Throughout my engineering career, I have helped many firms create proficient detailing practices for their particular genre along with their capabilities. I have also aided in gaining local or state approval on different fabrication processes.
