Toby's Estate at Urbanspace Vanderbilt is simply rocking...
Located across the street from Grand Central Terminal and its flocking herds, Toby’s Estate is part of Urbanspace Vanderbilt, a collection of 20 vendors in a bustling modern food hall. The Brooklyn based coffee roasted required a design that would stand out among the other vendors in the always busy market while withstanding the constant flow of customers heading to and from their trains.
Up to the challenge, studio vural created a durable flagship design that stood out and stood up to constant use. A stunning espresso counter is made of a birch substrate clad with honed graphite marble, an import of the Balkans, and domestic walnut planks that provide a visual weight that anchors the outpost and will stand up to constant coffee spills. Integrated into the counter area mod bar, cold brew station, pitcher rinsers and a display case.
Planned to be one of Toby’s Estate’s busiest locations, studio vural was also able to include a full fledged support bar into the kiosk. Designed to complement the espresso counter, the support bar provides a secondary space to help Toby’s barista’s keep up with the overwhelming Grand Central foot traffic.
studio vural managed the entire project, from conception to installation, allowing our client to concentrate on running their business instead of construction stress.
