The gallery is designed for a wide range of dramatic art objects representing the epitome of luxury. One of our key design challenges is to consider how this eclectic collection of exotic objects can be presented in a singular setting that will facilitate their appreciation, without either over- or under-stating each piece of work in relation to others.
Through a series of conceptual elements, such as the vaulted hall and the grand staircase that morphs into a bar, we focused on expressing materiality and lighting to evoke a theatrical spatial effect, successfully transforming what used to be a typical concrete bunker space into an exciting space that accommodates flexibility for changing exhibits.
