Louisville's Metro Parks is developing programming for education about outdoor activities throughout its Shawnee, Chickasaw, and Portland Wharf Parks. The Outdoor Learning Center is proposed as a hub for these activities, accommodating classroom, exhibition, outfitting, and office space. A centerpiece proposed in the main double-height space is a climbing wall. 

This is just a preliminary proposal, presented at a public hearing in December 2015 as part of the master planning process for the integration of the outdoor learning programs in these parks.
