A Film School:

The design for the film school began with an exploration of the elements found in film-light, space, and mood.  The driving inspiration for the design was taken from the science fiction classic BladeRunner.  The central courtyard, designed as a public screening space mimics the vertical light seen throughout the BladeRunner film.  The wide angled shots in the film showing the extreme vertical spacial depth are transformed into a horizontal format.  The cantilevering spaces are supported from the floors below-the base floor is predominantly concrete with a light weight steel structure as the floors ascend.  The project's renderings incorporate a specific mood not unlike the film.
