The problem was to design the residential rooms and suites for a boutique luxury hotel in Piazza della Repubblica, Florence, Italy. The project must reflect and incorporate all that is Florence – color, texture, light, materials, resonance – so that being in the hotel a guest would sense that they could be in no other city in the world.
The assigned space is 3 identical residential floors of the future hotel. According to the program, each floor should contain 1 suite, 2 double rooms, lobby and a service room.
Taking into account the main condition in which Florence became what it is - the Tuscan light - a plan of natural lighting of the assigned space was created. To keep that layout, partitions were putted on the light/shadow edges. Thus, the space was divided according to the light and function.
