About

I was born and raised in Suriname, South America. After high school I moved to the Netherlands to study and become an architect as it has always been my passion. I love architecture and see it as being something that is part of me. I am a dynamic, social, enthusiastic and ambitious architect with more than two years of experience in various projects and building phases of several types of buildings like schools, row houses and public buildings. Since graduating from the University of Delft with a Master’s degree in Architecture in 2009 I was working at N2 architects as a design and technical trainee. Gaining experience in all design phases, from sketch to definitive design.  I recently worked at KCAP Architects&Planners being mainly responsible for  production and managing of European tenders, the preparation of publications / press releases and media relations, the preparation of awards, lectures, exhibitions, creating presentation/promotional books and panels. I recently did a competition for the Swedish UngBo organization, where I won the FIRST prize and also an honor of winning the Best of the Best prize for the entire competion this year.

If hired, I'm a very curious, enthusiastic and driven employee, always pushing to learn more and take on more responsibility. And I love working with different kinds of people. I possess technical and computer skills with advanced knowledge of AutoCAD, Vectorworks, Sketchup, Maya 3D studio, V-Ray, Photoshop, Indesign and Illustrator and other graphics communication programs. A knowledge of contracts administration is also one of my strong points.

When it come to designing, I like to go to the basics of human nature. The urge to adapt to your environment is something that I can relate to and try to give this sense of belonging to the design and the users of it. We human beings are governed by a chameleon like urge to blend in with our surroundings – to camouflage ourselves within our environment. We need to feel at home and to find our place in the world.
