Toronto, ON, CA

B.E.S.T. Lecture

Thursday, February 25, 2016 -

6:30pm to 8:00pm

Room 103, 230 College Street

The presentation will show select projects by LGA Architectural Partners to illustrate a practice and an approach to generating specific architectural form through a process of engagement and discourse and how each strange brew of client, site, community and environment is an opportunity to generate a rich and authentic architecture.

Janna Levitt co-founded LGA in 1989 and leads a number of the firm’s arts and educational projects. Her active role in the broader cultural community allows her to bring a rich, contextual perspective to the firm's work.  She also brings her research into bio-diverse landscapes supportive of pollinators and urban agriculture into the practice. She is a founding member of Cape Farewell – North America, an international art foundation raising awareness of climate change as a cultural issue and sits on the board of a number of cultural institutions, including the Steering Committee for the Architecture Pavilion at the Venice Biennale, Arts Build Ontario, and the Canadian Architectural Certification Board. Janna is an adjunct professor at both Dalhousie University and Waterloo University Schools of Architecture.
