About 

General Statement

 Mr. Sackler has worked as an architect since receiving his  degree in 1980.   He has participated in projects which include large and small office buildings, retail developments,  schools, transportation related projects,  a public library, a pharmaceutical research laboratory, and private residences, gut renovations and new construction.  Mr. Sackler has participated in every phase of the professional process essential to building creation, from developing initial proposals and concepts through the realization of the building on the site.  He has been very active during  construction administration, interacting with contractors as the project progresses from initial demolition and excavations through final punch-listing and close-out.

Through Voorsanger Architects, I have been working for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey in the Architecture Unit reviewing design submittals for the Redevelopment of LaGuardia Airport: Central Terminal Building, new structured parking, and Central Heating Refrigeration Plant. In addition, I have been Lead Engineer Architect, or task leader on supportive projects including a feasibility study for a new electrical sub-station, temporary parking facility, and the renovation of existing space into accommodate long term planning of the airport.

The Ives Architecture Studio has grown out of The Ives, Schier & Lesser Architectural Studio,llp, and The Ives Group. Positions and titles include senior architect, project manager, and associate.

Presently serving as a consultant to the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey as a Lead Engineer-Architect, I am responsible for coordinating teams of architects and engineers on project specific basis. Tasks include defining project scopes, establishing and monitoring project schedules and budgets, reviewing construction documents and assisting construction administration.

The Hub, Bronx, NY. Project Management activities included detailing, specification writing and construction administration for a $25 million dollar retail and office development. Project is completed.

PS 34, Jersey City, New Jersey. Project Management activities include overseeing production of contract documents and construction administration of an $8 million dollar window replacement and masonry restorations of an historic school structure on Jersey City, New Jersey. Client was the New Jersey School Construction Authority. Project is completed.

Cleveland School, Orange, New Jersey. Project Management include overseeing production of contract documents: renovations and additions to a public elementary school. Client was the New Jersey School Construction Authority. Project on hold.

Florence School, Irvington, New Jersey. Project Management included overseeing production of contract documents: renovations and additions to a public elementary school. Client was the New Jersey School Construction Authority. Project on hold.

YMCA, Hoboken, New Jersey, Project Management included overseeing design, and contract documents: renovations and additions to an historic building. Project cancelled subsequent to obtaining building permit.

Westminster Hall, Bloomfield College, Bloomfield, New Jersey. Project Management included overseeing design, and contract documents: renovations and additions to an historic building. Historic red slate roof was worn and needing to be replaced. Working with an historic preservation consultant, we developed reports and plans to apply for funding from the State Historic Commision. Project was cancelled due to lack of funding.

Project Architect/Manager responsibel for renovation of 105,000sf pharmaceutical research loaboratory, Ardseley, NY. Responsible for full range of services including preparation of proposal and client/consultant contracts; preparation of existing conditins/demolition documents; origramming, design, construction documents; and complete construction administration activities. Other projects include 20,000sf renovation of historic mens' club to adminstration offices at Passaic Community College; and providing archtectural detailing capacities on the renovation and construction of a new building at Edision State College, NJ.

Between February and October, 2016, I worked on the bidding and initial construction administration phases of the renovation and restoration of an historic US Jobs Corps school in the South Bronx,
