Work done at University of Michigan for a seminar called Complex Clarity. The research topic of historic Reindeer Herding practices in Norway, and its conflicts with modern land use, was explored in conjunction with learning to use Grasshopper as a tool to visualize data.
The result was a map-based drawing which demonstrates the land uses of Reindeer Husbandry and areas of wind farming installations across Norway. The magnitude of the red circles depicts the power output of the given wind turbine site, as well as circumnavigating dots which represent the number of turbines at the site. The blowup map of Berlevag, Norway depicts a planned wind farming site in question and the herd movements and seasonal pasture areas in the area.
