ARD - De Pere Residence

Surrounded by monotonous, sprawling, vinyl-clad suburbia, this house stands out by making a statement. The organization of the home is primarily defined by two rectangular volumes sliding past one another to create an elongated residence that takes advantage of the natural landscape of the site. These volumes are connected by a glass box that defines the main entrance of the home. The two volumes help separate the public and private zones of the house, with the portion nearest the street containing the kitchen, great room, stair and study while the portion furthest from the street contains the master bedroom, bath, mudroom, laundry, and garage. This parti also creates a modular organization for efficiency of construction. The shifted plan allows interior spaces greater views to the exterior landscape while screening particular areas from neighboring properties.
The three bedroom home uses custom detailing and modern finishes to create a thoroughly warm and inviting experience. Each space was sized specifically for its function, scale of furnishings, intricacy of detailing and connection between interior and exterior.
