The project consists of the construction of the Visitor Reception Center of the mountainous region of Ronda after to the demolition of the Municipal Music School.
Why a Visitor Reception Center in Ronda? Why in the neighborhood of San Francisco? Ronda, despite being the third most visited city in Andalusia, and have on tourism the main source of income is paradox of having no tourist service equipment. Therefore, my project aims to fill a need that I consider basic round, both from the standpoint of architectural and industrial and economic development.
The why of its location is answered with a brief visit to the environment and a cursory survey of its history. In its area around there is the biggest concentration of the monumental city. Besides being round gateway and be a landscape of extraordinary natural beauty and urban areas.
The project aims to meet this need and to provide the neighborhood of San Francisco, without Public Buildings, a meeting place for cultural and social. Hence the duality of the project to the outside (the visitor) and inside (the neighbors.)
The site corresponds to the plot catrastal 68777-01 distribution area AO-14 “Special Plan for Protection and Interior Reform of the Historic Ronda”. It is located northeast of the neighborhood of the “Espíritu Santo“, now San Francisco neighborhood, and bordered to the north Sauco Street, east Marbella Street, south San Sebatian Street and west, Ruedo Alameda Square.
The privileged location in the historic center of Ronda beyond the walls, pitched at a singular point of easy access to the city level, and representation at the institutional level.
Its plant is irregular shaped and covers an area of 1474.08 m2. Its short sides are in east and west, and the long north and south. Remains the same topography. This is substantially flat with a maximum difference in height of 1.20 meters from north to south. However, the streets around it have a variable topography.
