About

The most important is to know how to take full advantage of the privileges that are offered to you. I was fortunate enough to have experienced several cultures. After living for 7 years in the US I then had the chance to live six years in Beijing, China. Staying there for so long showed me that there are many opportunities in such a fast changing city.

As an architectural student at McGill University in Montreal Canada, I am exposed to countless cultures. Working in an open-minded, culturally diversified and creative environment is extremely motivating. During projects, I always try to achieve a little more than what is asked of me. We continue drawing and model making because the use of our hands is an outmost important step in the process of design. Indeed, our professors try to teach us not only the artistic part of architecture, but also how to take a step back and rethink about the role of a space and experiment different architectural solutions. We try to spend more time on the process in order to get the most out of our ideas. I was also fortunate to spend a summer at the University of Pennsylvania School of Architecture as a summer program.

My professional path certainly lies abroad, being always in contact with China. Learning mandarin is a challenge, and in order to penetrate this language, I decided to invest myself for a full year in a total immersion. After finishing my tenth grade in the French International School of Beijing, I intentionally took a gap year and joined a Chinese high school in Beijing (首都师范大学附中) as a full boarding student. Moreover, I have always loved working and living autonomously, which is why one year alone in a Chinese school, was so beneficial. Before planning anything, my parents and my school pointed out to me a series of risks, but I knew that by working hard I would be able to succeed. Being immerged as the only non-Asian student together with three thousand five hundred Chinese students helped me apprehend their culture and their mentality. Now I also wanted to share with them my own culture, so I taught them French Rock & Roll dancing classes in Chinese. This special one-year experience taught me a lot about rigor and autonomy.

If I had to describe myself, I would say I am very persistent and passionate. I can be a very hard worker, especially when the subject is of interest to me. I always try to do my best in the subjects I prefer the most. I can also be creative, not just in architectural design but also problem solving.
