Piave Springs

Requalification of the Piave Springs is driven by an existing path that guides visitors through the preserved landscape.  The competition called for a conceptual proposal to expose locals and tourist to the picturesque scenery of the Italian dolomites while still maintaing the local surroundings.  The tectonic approach is to anchor the project to the local building shapes and material tradition, referring to the typical vernacular construction of the mountain refuge "baita".  Using the typical section of a "baita", the generative form redefines the program throughout the entire park, from the entry access to the small follies placed in the landscape as a refuge to the new main reception structure for the visitors.
