Mia Mia- the Shield House

RESILIENT    LIVING    FOR    AUSTRALIA

CCAD: Climate Change Adaptive Design
Elevated Build Contemporary Eco house for temperate to sub-tropical regions of Australia

A resilient house of durable design will not necessarily look like any other everyday house designs.
It must, by definition, prioritise and be selective in terms of its choices of building elements and features.
A resilient house is, first and foremost, a robust and life- supporting module; and secondly, it will be durable enough to sustain life in the immediate aftermath when utilities and infrastructure will likely be damaged or knocked out of service; or shut down for safety purposes by authorities.
Individual responsibility means understanding that most risk minimisation strategies require early and prompt  manufacture and construction.  It has to be built in from the start. Last minute preparation of a property in the face of a storm or bushfire is most often not the best way to protect your property.

Understand the risks and make smart choices…. CCAD: Climate Change Adaptive Design
