Resonant Surface 01 is a series of horns which coalesce to allow a single performer’s singing, praying, or talking to be amplified in all directions within a confined space. Inspired from the loudspeakers at the top of minarets and the huge banks of speakers at rock concerts the piece lends spatial and aesthetic character to devices that are typically seen as undesirable but necessary hardware. The piece will entice interaction through its form which evokes musical instruments, loudspeakers, flowers and Arabic patterns.
