Transforming the Envelope

Financial analysis of implementing 3 various technologies for a current building on Carnegie Mellon University’s main campus was conducted. A green roof with solar arrays, building integrated photovoltaics (BIPV), as well as a biowall was researched. A cost benefit analysis was performed, and it was determined that the BIPV would incur the best ROI and shortest payback period.
