Title:
"From the Ground UP" - A sustainable high school competition sponsored by the DVGBC (Delaware Valley Green Building Council) asks for innovative design solutions to revitalize a 7-acre post-industrial brownfield site located in Kensington, PA. The concept for sustainability in this project approached holistic vision for the entire ethnic-based neighborhoods to "go green". With the help of people from all three communities; the Spanish neighborhood in Kensington, and mixed population of Blacks and Whites in Norristown, the vision is a school as an engine/nucleus/generator for generating economy and promote long term city goals. (2008).
