173 Perry St

Inspired by the form of a windmill, this two stories multifamily residence embraces its open view on 173 Perry Street, looking down to the stunning Hudson River of New York City. The concept of fluidity and transparency requires the design to bring the interior in coherence with the exterior surroundings. The existing space is surrounded by clear glass curtain wall on three sides of the building with a service core located in the center. By opening up the area around the glass curtain wall and turning it into a continuous living area, the space maximizes the view and light, and at the same time enables the private residence to become a good party location. The aesthetic concept is purity, therefore, the color palette stays in a small range of white and neutral to enhance the view of water outside.
