The studio program for this project was to implement a realistic approach to designing a multi-unit residential complex. Parameters were established using actual planning and building department municipal codes provided by the local government of Mashad, Iran. Major emphasis was placed on program space relations between private and public zones throughout the 85 unit complex. Units range from 1400 SF to 2200 SF. Various forms of landscape and hardscape elements are used to create privacy as well as a sound barrier from the surrounding traffic. Structural analysis along with vehicle circulation and parking requirements set forth the main grid for continuity and repetition within the post and beam construction
