Chairs for Chairity - Make a Wish Foundation

The title of the chair summarizes the organizational composition of this exploration of Design. Simple primary forms and elements are composed to form a composition which has three dimensional complexity and interest. The chair is constructed of transparent and opaque elements, expressing stability and solidarity in contrast with transparent and dematerialized elements. Elements and lines are expressed and suggested extending into space beyond the boundaries of the chair’s construction.

Although the appearance of the construction projects a disciplined and rigid construction, the chair is actually quite comfortable for the user. Comfort is achieved not through the use of soft materials, conforming to the shape of the Human Form, yet by the care study of human anatomy and ergonomics. The headrest is adjustable by the two removable pins located on the back rails of the chair to suite the specific user of the chair and/or allowing the option of totally removing the head rest for those not wishing such a tall expression/ chair. The resulting compositions were carefully studied and the various optional and changing forms is “COMPLETE” and “WHOLE”.
