As Americans we fight the stereotype of being a fat lazy breed, we have attempted
to mitigate this notion by focusing our leisure time on physical activity, but as a country
our leisure time is vanishing, and our work environments are growing more sedentary.
Our current generation is grappling with the new work environment, one where getting
out of bed is not exactly a requirement. The new co-working offices main spatial
requirement is flexibility. So our project leverages the office’s need for flexibility with our
human need for exercise, socialization and unique experience.
In a society dominated by the personal automobile there exists many groups that
would take back our street as public space, they organize rides, rallies, festivals, and
political action, ten years ago these groups were isolated, and idealist. Today however
these groups have grown into a very real political force, their message stretches globally,
their tactics are rebellious, and their time is now, this is their architecture.
