Art Center: Mixed Use

Although people’s tastes may differ, everyone can appreciate art. It is a great uniting factor that all cultures share. This center is meant to do just that; it is a place where people can gather, create, and live. It weaves strands of diverse cultures and art together to make a stronger, united neighborhood. As the saying goes, “A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.” The axis through the heart of the building is the great unifying element. It is the core that everything is woven into, bring the arts together and displaying them. The paths that cut across the axis relate to other community centers in the city. The façade is woven in and out creating exterior and interior spaces that can be enjoyed by the artist or as a patio for those who live there.
