Assignment -- Design a festival and permanent cultural center for Mt. Adams.
I decided to create a ceramics festival, given that Mt. Adams, OH is the original home of Rookwood Pottery. The inspiration for my building design was a piece of clay being thrown on a potter’s wheel. Street facades are orthagonal to relate to the context. Inside concentric circles form a paved courtyard space with large curved walls extending toward the sky. Masses relating to the program with varied sizes let light enter the spaces. I used Revit for this project.
