A collaborative project between the University of Tennessee College of Architecture and Design and Metropolia University on Helsinki, Finland a group of us UT students are working towards a layout and design of an exhibit of already designed luminares from students at Metropolia.

The concept extends from all of our experiences while studying abroad in Finland. We have established a story alongside our process which relates to both submerging into water (an important ritual associated with sauna) and also inhabiting the night sky (which dominates a large portion of the year in Finland).

Our installation relates the Nocturne luminaire to the cosmos and introduces projections of our footage in Finland as a way to allow people to either enter into the lakes of Finland or the beloved Northern Lights.
