The law school of Columbia University is located outside of the campus in an existing building that has a very strong architectural character.  We designed a 2 storey extension  that uses the top level and follows the existing logic and elevations of the building.  Creating an elegant and comfortable environment while working with the existing structure and materials of the building provided a challenge around the core of the building where the mechanical area and equipments were located. The proposal relocated most of the mechanical equipment and provided maximum usable area for great contentment of the client.
