During the summer of 2010, I was employed as a student intern working for Drura Parrish, Rives Rash, and Bart van Dissel at Parrish Rash & van Dissel [PR&vD] art fabrication firm as well as their Land of Tomorrow [LOT] galleries in Lexington and Louisville. I worked primarily with the art fabrication side doing such tasks as sanding, painting, deliveries, metal bending, 3d modeling, 3d printing, and graphic design. On the LOT side of things, I helped prepare, moniter, and break down shows. I have continued to work with PR&vD throughout the Fall 2010 semester whenever help was needed. Throughout the experience, all of us interns were exposed to complex design and fabrication methods as well as the inner workings of a functioning gallery.
