Construct of identity fragments and dissipates as a recently formed nation tries to take its place in the current globalized world. By trying to juggle two major elements, national economy and national identity, domesticity and community become overlooked, secondary elements. The proposed intervention searches for possibilities in finding the monumental through the domestic by deconstructing the symbolic in search of the national identity in the global context. The monument tries to synthesize the rich Kazakhstan history through the domestic space that fragments into public realm and creates hierarchical division, which allows for simultaneous perception of the whole and the individual.
