Summoned to create a tea house for an art gallery installation, and working with visiting artist Theaster Gates, what was created was a tea house inspired by the idea of wabi sabi, the Japanese Tea Ceremony ritual and the spirit of tea consumption in the American South: porch culture, lazy days, rocking chairs, sweet iced tea.
Materials: Wood, burlap, steel, glass mason jars, sweet tea [drink], sweet tea [bags].
Currently resides in the private collection of a Charlotte art collector.
